🐢🐍 Struggling to Care for Your Exotic Pet? We Can Help! 🐠🦜📅 Saturday, April 3, 2027
🕚 12 PM–3 PM
📍 Upham Woods Outdoor Learning Center
N194 County Rd N, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965
J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue is bringing an Exotic Pet Surrender Event to Wisconsin Dells!
Finding a new home for an exotic pet isn't always easy. Fish, reptiles, birds, invertebrates, small mammals, and other exotic animals often have fewer rehoming options than dogs and cats.
If you can no longer care for your pet, please don't release it into the wild. Bring it to us instead.
Our Exotic Pet Surrender Events provide a safe, responsible, and judgment-free option for people who need help. They also help protect Wisconsin's environment by preventing unwanted pets and potentially invasive species from being released outdoors.
🐾 What Can Be Surrendered?
🐠 Fish
🦐 Invertebrates
🐍 Reptiles
🦜 Pet birds
🐹 Small mammals
🌿 Aquatic and terrestrial plants
No questions asked.
Attendees can also meet animal ambassadors and learn about responsible pet ownership, exotic animals, and invasive species prevention.
Important Information
Same-Day Adoptions: Surrendered animals must first complete a mandatory quarantine and observation period. Same-day placements will not be offered.
Domestic & Farm Animals: We do not accept domestic animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, or farm animals at these events. Please contact your local humane society for help finding surrender or rehoming options for these animals.
Native Wildlife: We cannot accept Wisconsin native wildlife taken from the wild. Please contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for assistance.
Out-of-State Animals: Birds, reptiles, and mammals originating outside Wisconsin must have the required Certificate of Veterinary Inspection.
💚 A special thank you to the Upper Sugar River Watershed Association for supporting this event and helping us provide a safe alternative to releasing unwanted exotic pets into the environment!
