FIRST FRIDAY IN NOTO | OCTOBER 2 🎨October at the NOTO Arts Center is packed with new art, photography, poetry, local artists, and a special project just for the kids!
Come explore everything happening throughout the Arts Center:
🖼️ Morris Gallery | “Clause & Effect”
Two hundred fifty years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, artists explore the document not as a relic, but as a living text that is layered, flawed, aspirational, and unfinished.
📚 Redbud Room | DoPiKa Book Release & Poetry Walk
The 2026 DoPiKa Project is all about the kids! Throughout October, we’re giving away FREE copies of DoPiKa: The History We Almost Forgot to children, one free book per child while supplies last.
DoPiKa is a young children’s book sharing the Native origins of Topeka, written by Lisa Baker for the DoPiKa Project and illustrated by Staci Dawn Schnacker, in conjunction with a TopCity Grant, ArtsConnect, and the City of Topeka.
📷 Art in the Vestibule | Photography by Tobias Schlungensiepen
Explore photographs from Tobias’s 2025 hike along the Appalachian Trail, captured entirely with a cellphone camera. Proceeds from photo sales will benefit the Top City Trail Alliance.
🌿 Avant Garde Underground Gallery | Phoebe Trites
“Between Nature and Imagination” explores landscape, fantasy, and abstraction, moving from the recognizable beauty of the natural world into vivid spaces shaped by color, wonder, and emotion.
🎨 DoPiKa Project Gallery
Featuring NOTO Resident Artist Lauren Miller and artists from the AGU Co-op.
There is a LOT to discover under one roof this month, so make the NOTO Arts Center one of your stops during October!
