About this Event
Join us for guided tours of the Wende Museum's new exhibition Competing Cosmologies: Interpreting the Sky.
Competing Cosmologies explores how new discoveries in space exploration during and after the Cold War inspired visual artists around the world. Its four sections, Astronomy, the Space Race, Futurisms, and Aliens, bring together artists from the East, the West, and the Global South who tied advances in space science to their own cultures.
The exhibition pairs contemporary and Cold War-era artwork with historical artifacts, including a full-scale model of Sputnik and an original meteorite.
Take a guided tour and see how artists across eras and ideologies have looked to the sky.
