JamFactory’s ICON series celebrates the achievements of South Australia’s most influential visual artists working in craft-based media. JamFactory is thrilled to present this significant body of work by proud Ngarrindjeri weaver Aunty Ellen Trevorrow. Weaving Through Time is a major touring exhibition celebrating Aunty Ellen’s unwavering dedication to culture, community and innovation in contemporary Ngarrindjeri weaving.
As well as being an accomplished and widely exhibited artist, Aunty Ellen is a keen teacher.
‘Through her generosity and determination, Aunty Ellen has profoundly shaped the lives of so many in her community, leaving a lasting impact across generations. We can talk about how important it is to teach the next generation, to keep culture alive, but until you’ve seen it happening – until you’ve been part of it – it’s hard to truly understand its significance.’ – Carly Tarkari Dodd
