Step into the wonderfully mysterious world of Lucas Wright! Our latest exhibition 'Lucas and the Midsomer Murders' was created by Lucas Wright, a talented contemporary artist with Down Syndrome living in the Northern Rivers region.
Inspired by his all-time favourite television program, Midsomer Murders, Lucas brings the fictional world of the show to life through vibrant paintings, drawings, paper sculpture and his distinctive text-based mark-making.
Lucas draws inspiration from Western landscape and architectural painting, as well as the popular culture he loves, including television, movies, games and comics. His passion for Midsomer Murders shines through this ongoing body of work, offering a fascinating and richly layered take on the show’s fictional world.
Lucas Wright has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across the Northern Rivers, including at Lismore Regional Gallery, Lone Goat Gallery and Serpentine Gallery. In 2018, he was awarded a prestigious Bundanon Trust Artist in Residency, culminating in his 2021 solo exhibition 'In My Town and Your Town' at Lismore Regional Gallery.
Come along, take a closer look, and discover the world of Midsomer through Lucas’s eyes.
The gallery is open Wednesdays to Saturday 10am – 4pm. The exhibition continues until 17 October 2026.
