Join AURORA for a guided tour of The Warehouse with Curator Thomas Feulmer, who will lead guests through two current exhibitions: In Our Image: The Fragile Body in Contemporary Art, curated by Simone Krug, and WAREHOUSE:01 Yukinori Yanagi, curated by Mika Yoshitake.
In Our Image brings together works from The Rachofsky Collection, the Hartland & Mackie / Labora collection, and other private and institutional loans to explore the human figure as a site of vulnerability, identity, psychology, and consciousness. The exhibition considers how artists use the fragile, imperfect, and sometimes transformed body to reflect on individual and collective experiences.
The tour will also explore WAREHOUSE:01 Yukinori Yanagi, the sixth edition of The Warehouse’s single-artist exhibition series. Yanagi’s work examines ideas of national identity, borders, belonging, and the symbols societies use to define themselves. His work often transforms flags, emblems, and other familiar symbols into shifting, organic forms.
This guided tour offers an opportunity to experience both exhibitions with Thomas Feulmer and to consider the connections between the artists, ideas, and approaches on view.
