About this Event
Ever had a great idea in a meeting, waited for the right moment, and watched someone else say it first? Or started speaking, got talked over, and quietly gave up the floor?
You’re not alone, and being heard isn’t about being the loudest person in the room.
What you’ll learn
Our Toastmaster of the day will share practical techniques for speaking up and being taken seriously in boardrooms, team calls, classrooms, and networking events. You’ll learn how to:
✅ Step into a conversation without waiting for a “perfect” pause
✅ Hold the floor calmly when interrupted, without apologizing for taking up space
✅ Project confidence through voice, pace, posture, and eye contact, even on Zoom
✅ Make your point land so people remember it, and remember it came from you
What to expect
You’ll see these techniques demonstrated, then try them yourself during Table Topics, our impromptu speaking segment, in a friendly, supportive setting. You’ll also hear prepared speeches from members and constructive feedback from our evaluators.
Who should attend
Professionals, students, job seekers, introverts, overthinkers, and recovering over-apologizers. No experience needed. Come to watch or jump in. There’s no pressure to speak.
