About this Event
The largest saline lake in the Western Hemisphere is vanishing before our eyes. Utah’s Great Salt Lake is disappearing, and along with it, our way of life. As the shoreline recedes, unhealthy dust threatens 2.5 million Utahns, critical wetlands for migratory birds disappear, and shrinking snowpack shortens our famous ski seasons. Around the world, over 100 saline lakes are in a state of collapse. No community has ever restored its inland sea. Utah could be the first.
The Brighton Institute is sponsoring a screening of the award-winning Sundance Film Festival movie called "The Lake". It explores what we all can do to make the Great Salt Lake a sustainable saline lake. There is hope!
