An Exclusive Conversation with MN PBS Series Pursuit of Happiness Host Amanda Brinkman

Tuesday, October 20, 2026 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM | MINNEAPOLIS CLUB
Minneapolis Club Membership Director Sarah Longacre sits down with fellow Club member Amanda Brinkman for an exclusive conversation about happiness and purpose and her new PBS series, Pursuit of Happiness, ahead of its national rollout.
What actually makes us happy? What role does purpose play in creating a meaningful life? And are the things we spend so much of our lives pursuing really the things that bring us fulfillment?
Amanda Brinkman has spent years exploring questions of purpose and meaning and how we can use our lives and our work to make a positive difference. Now as host of the new three-part PBS documentary series Pursuit of Happiness, she takes that exploration across Minnesota. She meets people from different generations and backgrounds and examines the relationships, choices and communities that shape our happiness.
Join us for a special fireside conversation as Sarah Longacre interviews Amanda about what she discovered while making the series. They’ll talk about the stories that stayed with her, what surprised her and how the experience has influenced her own thinking about happiness and purpose.
Guests will also get a special look at Pursuit of Happiness before its national rollout. The series explores everything from wealth and resilience to technology, wellbeing, community and purpose. It brings these ideas to life through deeply personal stories and expert insights.
This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from Amanda about a subject she has spent years studying, speaking about and bringing to audiences around the country. It promises to be a thoughtful and lively conversation about something we are all pursuing in one way or another: a life that feels happy, purposeful and meaningful.
There will be light apps and a cash bar.
Open to the Public.
