Guided by industry expert, Devin Ershow, you will:
- Trace Scotch whisky’s fascinating journey from its earliest origins through to today’s vibrant global industry.
- Explore the key raw materials and understand how each contributes to flavor.
- Uncover the science and artistry of production, from fermentation and distillation to cask maturation.
- Learn how Scotch whisky is protected by law, why labelling matters, and how business, culture, and heritage shape the category.
- Develop your sensory appreciation through guided tastings that illustrate regional character, cask influence, blending styles, and more.
Your learning will be reinforced through interactive activities, tasting sessions featuring classic and distinctive Scotch expressions, and the opportunity to try your hand at blending. The experience culminates in an online multiple-choice assessment, leading to the award of the Certificate in Scotch Whisky (with Pass, Merit, or Distinction).
