About this Event
Following the Police and Crime Commissioner's independent Violence Against Women and Girls survey last year, we heard from more than 4,800 women and girls across Lancashire who voiced concerns about several key issues. Transport safety was consistently identified as a concern throughout Lancashire, whether travelling by bus, train or taxi.
Clive Grunshaw, Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire, would like to convene partners from across the transport sector to raise awareness and strengthen the role that transport staff can play in preventing violence against women and girls and helping to protect them.
The event will focus on sharing best practice from across the sector, followed by a workshop to gather collective ideas on how we can respond to the concerns raised by women and girls.
We also recognise that we have a responsibility to ensure transport staff feel supported in carrying out their roles without fear of harm or abuse. The event will provide an opportunity for you to raise your concerns directly and discuss how we can work together more effectively in the future.
A free lunch and refreshements will be provided on the day.
Please note that this session is by invitation only.
