Ready to learn to crochet? This two-part, beginner-friendly class is designed to help you build a strong foundation while learning at a comfortable pace.
You’ll start with the basics, including how to choose yarn, understand yarn weights and quality, read crochet patterns and symbols, and work several essential stitches. Diane will guide you through chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, and slip stitches while helping you understand how and when they are used.
You’ll put those new skills to work by making a crocheted potholder, giving you a practical finished project while you practice. Along the way, you’ll also learn how to find and read beginner-friendly patterns and use resources like Ravelry and YouTube to continue building your skills at home.
This class is about more than making your first project. The goal is to give you the confidence and basic crochet knowledge you need to start exploring all the things you can make next.
You will need a size 5 crochet hook and a skein of Cotton Supreme Yarn.
