Euro NCAP's 2026 Driver Engagement protocols are reshaping how OEMs define driver monitoring and HMI. The EU AI Act is introducing new governance requirements for in-vehicle AI systems. And with Mercedes-Benz's DRIVE PILOT already operating at Level 3 on German highways, the boundary between cockpit design and smart driving has permanently shifted.
