Eugene Ripper is a trailblazing Canadian punk folk rocker and singer-songwriter. From his roots with Canada’s first wave surf punk rockers Stark Naked and the Fleshtones and throughout a solo career featuring a mashup of punk, folk, garage blues, twisted country, rockabilly and rock n roll Ripper continues to nail it down with his unique musical footprint all wrapped up in DIY punk rock ethos and an acclaimed lyrical songwriting stance. It’s a journey that has seen him flourish in the Toronto punk scene, the muddy roots of Vancouver’s pacific northwest scene, the vibrant anti-folk scene of New York City's East Village and on stages throughout Europe, England and Scotland. with reviews noting his “Rick Rubin‑era Johnny Cash” solo performances and even "John Prine meets The Ramones".
