About this Event
How did the Ethiopianist Black Liberation Movements in the diaspora and African continent work together during the 19th century?
What is Ethiopianism? How did this ideology seek to free Black people from European colonialism and racism? The late 18th and 19th centuries saw the rise of ‘Ethiopianism’, a radical religious movement which gave birth to the Black Liberation Theology in the diaspora A similar rise in Black Liberation Theology in Africa saw many of these groups collaborate to liberate Africans globally. Who were these groups and their inspirational leaders? What impact did these collaborations have on future Liberation movements?
In this inspirational session, Danny Thompson, one of the founders of The Black Secret Education Project, will uncover and explain this little-known history.
