6 – 8 pm
LRMA Interactive Gallery

Join LRMA’s founding director and first curator Lynn Whitelaw as he explores the life and work of master printmaker Esther Gentle in support of the exhibition "Esther Gentle: The Propagated Image."
Esther Gentle (1899–1991) spent her career in the business of working with modern masters like Stuart Davis, Abraham Rattner, and Milton Avery making one image into many. A sculptor, painter, printmaker, and gallery owner, she worked at a moment when American artists were rethinking what it meant to reproduce a work of art.
