Last year Essie's and Tango Moon hosted a fundraiser to raise money for the very worthy charity Prostate Cancer UK. With the help of so many kind hearted and wonderful people we had a hugely successful event and raised a STAGGERING amount. ALL money taken is given to the charity. No costs are taken out. This event is all abour raising money for charity.As the amount of people we know grows who are diagnosed with this cancer we wanted to raise more money as this is such a worthy cause. So we are doing it all again. But this time it is going to be even bigger and even better!
As many of you know Mark had his own personal journey and challenges with Prostate Cancer and thanks to an incredible health system and the support of Prostate Cancer UK he is thankfully still here to dance our socks off and keep us smiling.
We will also be donating to the Lee Sparks NF Foundation. Following my Son's horrific, terrifying and life changing hospital stay with Necrotising Fasciitis we feel very strongly about supporting this smaller much less known charity too as the help and support they provide for NF survivors is invaluable.
Kicking of the afternoon there will be a Cafe Tango (Tango in small spaces to smooth music ) workshop in the afternoon. 1pm to 3pm. Cost £15.
We are incredibly excited about this workshop as we have a guest teacher joining us. The stunningly fabulous Sylvia Griffiths from TangoMoon will be sharing her expertise and keeping me and Mark in check (or leading us astray). We are thrilled that she will be joining us and you are going to love her.
This workshop is suitable for all. No previous experience in Tango needed. Our fantastic teachers will make sure everyone gets individual attention in the workshop with the emphasis on fun. If you already dance Tango maybe you would like to join us to encourage the newer dancers as we all know how helpful that is. Show them Tango is a friendly dance.
2 Room Freestyle: 3pm till 7pm cost £12.
Main Room will be our regular Sunday party, a huge mix of music suitable for all dancers. The second room will be an Alt Tango/Smooth room - this room worked beautifully last year and the support and enthusiasm for it has led to regular Alt Tango/Smooth events which is wonderful,
There will be FOUR DJ's to keep you on the dancefloor:
Essie and Gary from Pirate Jive will be looking after the main room. Gary has joined us the previous two years and is excited to come and entertain you once more. We're very excited to announce that Sally from Frozen will also be joining us in the main room. All 3 local Sunday event organisers coming together for an incredible cause.
The amazing Tony Glover who teaches weekly classes at Spondon and runs regular Tango events will be joining Essie in the Alt Tango/Smooth room.
All teachers and DJs will be giving their time and expertise free of charge and ALL monies raised will go directly to Prostate Cancer Uk and The Lee Sparks NF Foundation.
Our well known kitchen buffet will be provided but if you'd like to bring a little something to the party please do. We will also have a chill out cafe where you can take a breather, catch up with friends and enoy the delicious treats from the kitchen.
There will also be a raffle so please bring some extra money with you. Any donations for raffle prize would be greatly received.
