About this Event
Get a coffee and listen to great organ music played by three fantastic organists!
Tucked inside one of the most striking Gothic Revival buildings in the NYC metro area sits the largest pipe organ on Long Island — thousands of pipes, towering rank upon rank, capable of a sound that goes straight through your chest.
At the console:
Raphael Attila Vogl - A returning organist of the Cathedral and now our Artist in Residence, Raphael is an international touring concert artist who will play his own transcription of Bach's Third Brandenburg Concerto and concert variations on one of Nicholas Paganini's famous violin sonatas!
David Preston - The Associate Director of Music at the Cathedral, presenting rare organ gems by Charles Ives and Ludwig van Beethoven, as well as a comic work by Lefebvre-Wely.
Martin Green, our new Director of Music, in his recital debut at the Cathedral. For years a regular performer at San Diego's Spreckles Organ Pavillion in Balboa Park, he brings us a ravishing transcription of Gabriel Fauré's Pavane and closes with Max Reger's mighty Passacaglia in D Minor.
