About this Event
Part of the Black History Month programme in conjunction with The University of Lincoln . Introduced by Professor Andrew Gower, Vice Chancellor of Lincoln Bishop University
In this very personal piece of performance art, Black British creative, Esme Sears combines her long term interest in psychology, well being, movement, music & poetry to explore how we move through challenges to face our fears & heal in the presence of community. Focusing on Esme’s own journey of loss & endings in connection to heritage & ancestry, this is a calling to move towards light & love, by surrendering to the darkness in the knowledge that we are bound to heal.
A little something Esme wants to share with the world... “We are loved, we are never alone, we are worthy of love, joy & magic. Our sensitivity & vulnerability is our super strength and along with this remember our minds, bodies and souls are beautiful. The darkness won’t last forever- light will come and together with our ancestors behind us, our tribes beside us and knowing there is a sun & starlit path ahead... We are powerful."
This event is free and open to all those aged 15+. It will take place in The Venue on the Lincoln Bishop University Campus (LN1 3DY).
