Equally Yoked Christian Singles Fall for Football, Fritters, & Foliage

Equally Yoked is a Metro Detroit-based group seeking to create spaces for practicing Christians who are single in southeast Michigan to meet and connect in-person as well as foster relationships in accordance with 2 Corinthians 6:14.

Happy cuffing season! Let's enjoy a day of autumn favorites as we meet new friends and enjoy fellowship. Join us for Christian Singles Fall for Football, Fritters, and Foliage!

Registration has been split into two age groups — Under 40 and 40+. You are not required to be a member of a particular church or denomination to participate, though we ask attendees are a part of a church to be plugged into a faith community.

We'll meet at Yates Cider Mill in Metro Detroit's Rochester Hills on Saturday, October 24 at 4:30 p.m. Please bring a donation for a food pantry of a nonperishable canned item. Make sure to check the expiration date!

We'll meet and enjoy a moderate-difficulty, short hike (0.8 miles) along the rooty, rocky Railroad Trail along the Clinton River and through the woods. Enjoy the fall colors the Lord has painted on the leaves! Please arrive on-time to enjoy the hike. Anyone more than 5 minutes late will be left behind.

The trail loops back to the cider mill. Enjoy casual shopping at Yate's store, and pick up treats like fritters, cider, doughtnuts, ice cream, and fresh apples. There also is a petting animal farm.

After Yates closes at 7 p.m., meet us at Johnny Blacks Public House for dinner and to watch college football. The broadcast schedule hasn't been released, but the University of Michigan and Michigan State University are both schedule to play that day. We'll catch the 7:30 p.m. game. A host will be on-site until 10 p.m.

Reigstration on Eventbrite is required. You'll check in with the event host with a legal photo I.D. and your canned food donation. You'll receive a wristband to indicate your participation. Ahead of the event, you'll receive an email with information on how to join a GroupMe app chat for updates the day of the event.

There is no cost of admission or for parking at Yates. Please wear shoes you feel confident walking on a potentially muddy and uneven dirt trail as well as a water bottle.

You will be responsible for covering the cost of anything you purchase at Yates and dinner at Johnny Blacks. We will have a cap on the number of participants who can join the dinner reservation. The sooner you register, the higher the likelihood you make the cut to join.

Please note alcohol is served at Johnny Blacks Public House. We ask that should participants choose to drink, they do so responsibly and do not drive under the influence.

We also ask that all participants demonstrate the Christian virtues of kindness, respect, and grace when interacting with others, especially as we will represent Christ in a secular environment.
