About this Event
It’s Autumn, which means it’s one of our favourite times of the year – Fungi season!
Dive into the fascinating world of the ‘wood wide web’ on this guided walk and exploration through the forest in search of all kinds of fungal life. The walk will be led by Environmental Education Officer and fungi enthusiast, Abi (they/them).
The walk will involve a variety of topics such as:
- Fungi identification: How to and top tips
- The roles of fungi in a forest ecosystem
- What can we learn from fungi?
- The importance of fungi in relation to the climate crisis
The walk will be at a leisurely pace, ensuring we have enough time to focus on and photograph each species observed.
Fungi forays are seasonal and no guarantees can be made about which species we will encounter!
