About this Event

Bringing together music across genres that embraces texture, improvisation, and environment. Our 18th edition at Dada!

Adrianna Svitak is an interdisciplinary artist from the United States, based in NYC. She works with manipulated acoustic instrumentation, field recordings, tape loops and voice to weave densely textured sonic landscapes. Her sound is characterized by sustained tension, drawing on a sense of loss, longing and nostalgia to create a distinctive and deeply haunting atmosphere. Adrianna studied at Manhattan School of Music, training extensively in composition, electronic music, and classical music performance, and has performed internationally for audiences upwards of 5,000 at concert halls across the United States, Mexico, India, and Asia. In Australia, she’s performed at the Leaps and Bounds Festival, Melbourne, Parramatta Lanes, Sydney, and MONA Museum, Tasmania. In the USA, Adrianna has performed at the EDME Festival, as a resident artist at Reforesters Lab, as a resident artist at Unsettlement at Avaloch Farm, and Cutelab, NYC.

Alex Baiz Perry is a pianist and electronic musician based in Brooklyn, NY. He makes music with pianos, the Moog Matriarch semi-modular analog synthesizer, and a DIY wooden Eurorack case he built with his dad in the summer of 2024. For most of his musical life he was a jazz pianist, and started venturing into sound synthesis in 2021. At the start of 2024 he taught himself to solder and assembled his first DIY Eurorack synth module, and the case came soon after.  He mainly performs improvised music, bringing together elements of jazz improvisation and ambient soundscapes. He enjoys playing slowly evolving music with subtle shifts in tempo and texture.

Harrison Adams is a composer, improviser, writer, and sound engineer. He is the curator of Environs and passionate about music that makes material and thematic connections to environment. His work has drawn inspiration from the acoustics and phenomena of the natural world, including the movements of wind, rain, and clouds.  With paper gem, he is a founder of the New Memento imprint, producing a series of zines and cassettes.  hjadams.com

paper gem produces sample-based hip hop and is experimenting with melding ambient, slowcore and electronic styles. He is a part of the 100Fold collective (a mix of rappers and producers) and has previously released projects with the collective, as a duo alongside rapper Nigel Xavier and beat tapes/remixes as a solo artist. He’s exploring visual art/collage and DJing to share some of his eclectic music tastes.
