About this Event
Join us Saturday, June 6th from 10:30 to 12:30 PM (walk-ups welcome) for a morning of fun and education.
This special program features two interactive workshops that explore how our everyday actions impact local waterways and ecosystems. Participants will investigate plastic pollution through experiments and a park cleanup activity before diving into the challenges facing fish populations and aquatic habitats, including overfishing and water quality. Through engaging activities and real-world connections to the surrounding environment, families will discover ways they can help protect the natural world.
Session 1: Plastic Pollution & Planet Defender
Learn how everyday human behavior affects the environment, explore the impact of microplastics through a hands-on experiment, and help clean up the park while discovering how plastic pollution impacts local waterways.
Session 2: One Fish, Two Fish, Why So Few Fish?
Explore the importance of healthy aquatic ecosystems by examining overfishing, water quality, and other environmental challenges. Participants will take part in interactive activities and discuss ways to support healthy fish populations and cleaner waterways.
