About this Event
Please join us for the third event of Still Moon's Fall Environmental Stewardship series! We have arrived for the season of harvest and bounty, native plant planting season, and salmon spawning season!
We will be conducting our first salmon spawner survey with our special guest, Dave Scott from Raincoast Conservation Foundation. Following the survey , we will continue to the revegetation of the riparian area of this section of Still Creek. We will be planting a variety of native herbs, shrubs and trees!
Once we are done with the planting, we will be laying mulch around our new plantings, and and taking some time to remove garbage from the site and within the creek! To keep warm and energized, we will be sharing hot tea and some snacks courtesy of CLIF Bar along the way.
In addition, we will be learning about the other introduced and native plants and their roles within the riparian area of Still Creek! We will learn how to identify them and hear about some of their use traditional uses. You'll also learn about the work that the Raincoast Conservation Foundation's work improving salmon habitat in the Fraser River.
