The University of Oxford's gardens, libraries and museums (GLAM), the Centre for Digital Scholarship and the Cheng Kar Shun Digital Hub at Jesus College are partnering to deliver a conference focussed on digital environmental sustainability. The Environmental Impact of Digital 2027 Conference will take place in-person on 4 March 2026 in Jesus College, Oxford and will capture a wide range of subject areas that use digital approaches and technologies combined with methods to reduce their environmental impact.
The conference is aimed at graduate/research students, researchers, staff and practitioners working in higher education, cultural heritage and / or sustainability. Attendees will develop their knowledge of digital environmental sustainability topics and have the opportunity to network with other organisations.
Tickets for the conference include a vegetarian lunch and tea/coffee breaks. Vegan and gluten-free options and a list of allergens will be available. If you have any other dietary requirements, please contact [email protected] at the point of booking your ticket so that we can accommodate this.
This conference expands on a previous event which took place in 2025 at the Weston Library, Oxford, focusing on the environmental impact of digital. Resources and recordings can be found .

This event will take place in the Cheng Kar Shun Digital Hub at Jesus College, Oxford. The Hub entrance is on Market Street (opposite Wagamama). The Hub is accessible, with automatic double doors at the entrance and lifts to and from the main lower ground floor event space.
