This experiential workshop explores how archives can engage more effectively with diverse communities.
About this Event

Through film screenings, case studies, discussion and practical exercises, participants will examine identity, trust-building, representation and inclusive communication.

The workshop is designed to be experiential, drawing upon the attendees’ own challenges and goals within their organisations. Using real-life stories from a range of communities and experiences, the workshop will challenge assumptions, encourage reflection and equip participants with practical tools to improve engagement with underrepresented groups.

The workshop is broken down into four aims and objectives:

  1. Navigate challenging conversations in community engagement
  2. Highlight barriers to participation and Inclusion
  3. Develop practical approaches to building trust and meaningful relationships
  4. Enable participants to create actionable plans for their own organisations
