About this Event
Energy Investment Competition, hosted by the Energy Club
The winning team will receive a cash prize and a place in the grand finale at INSEAD, competing against the winning teams from other schools.
The Energy Club is hosting a simulation that puts participants in the role of clean-energy project developers. Each team gets a project: solar in India, wind in the UK, green hydrogen in Dubai, carbon capture in Australia/Canada, energy storage in Asia, or data centers. Teams then compete for funding from a panel of energy investors and bankers.
Teams and case materials will be shared a few days in advance. The competition itself takes place on a single day, over three rounds:
- Financial modelling and preparing a board-level investment presentation
- Consultations with investors and banks
- Final pitches and negotiating terms
Participants will assess project risk, account for geopolitical factors and structure financing for their projects.
Seats are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
