About this Event
We’re doing things differently this quarter. Instead of the usual update, the seminar is in two parts. First, we will show you our operational price forecasts, followed by an introduction to Gambit, our new high-fidelity representation of dispatch to think about strategic behaviour, outages, constraints, wargaming and contracting.
Part 1: Let the data speak - A look behind Endgame’s operational price forecasts
Brett Gebert, Director
In this session, Brett takes you inside the Endgame machine learning forecasting platform. He will show how we benchmark inputs and outputs and how we compile reports all using a tool that anyone here can reproduce.
You'll see:
- Comparing models: fundamental economic models, simulation models and models formulated using machine learning algorithms (MLAs)
- Benchmarking our ready to use, MLA forecasts against actual prices and the process of retraining and validating the models
- Benchmarking and improving model inputs: demand, renewable capacity, and expected generator availability (MTPASA, adjusted for outages that are declared as delivery approaches)
- A use-case example of the forecasts: annual forecasts for a complete renewable budget
- How your own LLM tools can connect to our platform to pull data, run analysis (including everything in this presentation which anyone can reproduce), and build and run your own forecasting models
- How to build your own forecasting models, mixing our models and data with yours
Part 2: Gambit
Using a high-fidelity representation of dispatch to think about strategic behaviour and contracting
Oliver Nunn, Managing Director
Oliver introduces Gambit – ie, Endgame's modelling approach to the contracting and strategic side of the market. A high-fidelity model that allows us to explore how market participants behave strategically and how that behaviour interacts with outages, network constraints, and other short- to medium-term features of the market. Oliver will show how this lens can sharpen the way you think about bidding, contract positions and market outcomes.
