Please join us for the “end” of the Milky Way Season gathering at Herron Point. Herron Point won the votes on this occasion but I am well aware we have been neglecting our NOR Astro destinations so I promise to venture north more next year.
I saw “end” because as most of you know there is no end to the Milky Way season! Most of what we see in the night sky throughout the year is part of our own galaxy. However the brightest part we can photograph - the core centred around Sagittarius and Scorpius will soon be only above the horizon during the day so this is our last opportunity to photograph her until around Feb/March next year. If you don’t mind a later night you could photograph the core setting to the west and then Orion rising to the east… plenty to see.
Families, partners and newbies welcome. Please make others feel welcome and bring a friend :) I may come just me, or may have my children plus some others and some additional dogs 🤷🏻♀️
Please RSVP so I have an idea of numbers.
