About this event
The Leadership in a New Era series was inspired by Margaret Wheatley's book (2023) Who Do We Choose to Be? Facing Reality Claiming Leadership Restoring Sanity. The gatherings started in November of 2024.
The heart is many things. The 3 sessions under the topic Encourage the Heart are connection, courage, and compassion. Physically, the heart keeps blood flowing through the body. In many cultures, it is the centre for emotions, love, kindness, generosity, and beliefs. It is also what we call upon when we need to be brave.
What You’ll Experience
- Meaningful Connection: Connect with yourself and others in a deep, meaningful way. Find others who will nurture and support your spirit.
- Inner Exploration: Explore who you are being.
- Expanded Awareness: Heighten your listening skills. Listening provides the clearing and grants speaking. Explore the edges of your awareness to expand consciousness.
- Grounding Practices: Practice being in the present, grounded, and centred to respond to what is occurring.
Format & Flow
The conversation will be in a circle using a talking piece. We will start with a short guided meditation to help us be centred and grounded, so we can be present with and for each other. We will practice deep and generous listening.
As part of our Encourage the Heart theme, focusing on Courage, we will ponder the following:
- Think about a time when you were challenged
- What was the inner strength that pulled you forward to take the next step?
- Brené Brown says: "Vulnerability is not a weakness; it's our greatest measure of courage." Atlas of the Heart (2021). When have you been courageously vulnerable?
