You Spoke, We Listened! Now scheduled for a Saturday so more people can attend without having to accommodate work schedules! Our educational class/talk is coming to you on a weekend!
Have you ever wondered what you can—and can’t—ask when you encounter a service dog and their handler?
As you go about your day or even in your own business, you may see a service dog alongside a veteran. Collar of Duty has a growing number of service dogs and their handlers here in Grand Junction, and we want our community to feel informed and comfortable interacting with them.
These amazing animals are not pets. They are specially trained to perform specific tasks that assist their handlers.
Questions often come up, such as:
*What are you legally allowed to ask about a service dog?
*How should you address or interact with the animal?
*What should you do if you aren't sure whether an animal is a legitimate service dog?
*What about dogs that are still in training and what training are they getting?
If you've ever had these questions—or simply want to learn more—we invite you to join us for this informative event!
Location: TBD
Event will be free again but a donation to Collar of Duty is greatly appreciated. To donate please visit: collarofduty.org
Questions about the event or questions you would like answered at the event can be directed to the president of Collar of Duty, Debby, by emailing her at [email protected].
