Sand Creek is hosting an Empty Bowls event! Empty Bowls is a community art and charity event where people create and donate handmade bowls, then sell them filled with simple meals (like soup and bread) to raise money for local food banks and hunger-relief organizations. The bowls are kept by participants as a reminder of the ongoing issue of hunger and the importance of community support.
The event will take place at SCHS in the commons on April 23rd from 6-8pm.
Cost is $20 to attend. $20 buys a handmade bowl (made and donated by a d49 student!) soup and bread.
Soup and bread only is a $10 donation. All proceeds of the event will go to the D49 Resource Center to help D49 families.
If you are interested in donating soup or bread for the event, please contact Lauren Stuart at [email protected].
