A practical AI session for nonprofits exploring responsible use, real-world tools, legal guidance, and what comes next.
About this Event

Important Registration Eligibility

This workshop is strictly for nonprofit organizations and nonprofit staff. Because the session is designed specifically around nonprofit organizational needs, registrations from individuals who are not affiliated with a nonprofit organization will unfortunately need to be released. We appreciate your understanding and hope to offer future AI learning opportunities that are open to a broader audience.

AI is already showing up in nonprofit work, but organizations are at very different stages of understanding and adoption.

Some teams are just getting started. Others are already experimenting with tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, or Gemini but are still working through questions around responsible use, organizational policies, privacy, accuracy, and where AI can actually add value.

Empowering AI: Readiness, Reality & What’s Next is a free, two-hour learning and engagement session designed to meet organizations where they are. Breakfast and coffee will be provided, and attendees will also have access to Google Career Certificate scholarship opportunities.

Participants will explore practical nonprofit uses of AI, hear from an AI/legal expert on governance and responsible use, see real-world examples, and work through challenges organizations are facing today.

This session will also help Dallas Innovation Alliance better understand what nonprofits need as we develop deeper AI programming for 2027.

What You’ll Explore
  • Understand the Basics
Build a practical foundation in AI and generative AI, including what these tools can and cannot do.
  • Use AI Responsibly
Hear from an AI/legal expert who will help break down privacy, bias, security, accuracy, human oversight, organizational policies, and responsible AI use in practical, easy-to-understand terms.
  • See AI in Action
See practical examples of how AI can support nonprofit work such as communications, research, summarization, program planning, and other everyday tasks.
  • Try It on a Real Challenge
Work through real challenges submitted by participating organizations and explore where AI could help, what risks should be considered, and what support may be needed.

AI Governance & Responsible Use

A practical conversation with an AI/legal expert on responsible use, governance, privacy, policies, and the questions nonprofits should be thinking about before adopting AI more broadly.

Help Shape What Comes Next

Share what your organization is experiencing with AI and what additional support would be most useful.
