You’ll begin the workshop by exploring three styles, based on actual locked letters from Jane Austen, Phillis Wheatley, and John Keats. Then, quill in hand, you'll write your own letters on decorated paper, fold each one, and seal it by pressing your chosen insignia into hot wax. You'll leave with your quill, practice samples, sealed letters, and the know-how to make many more. This special event celebrates the central role that letters play in author Emily Franklin's acclaimed new novel, Love & Other Monsters.
