Boasting a diverse four albums and many miles under her belt, Barnes is a seasoned singer-songwriter who continues to build grassroots following from city to small town, one new believer at a time. Her songs have garnered her spots on national stages,including a trip to the highly coveted Kerrville Folk Festival, 2024 Acorn Songwriter Contest Finalist and headlining a sold-out album release tour across the Northeastern US. Now based in Colorado, Barnes writes vivid songs of empathy, love and perseverance over lush melodies. Since 2013, New Jersey-based singer-songwriter Mike Herz has been writing songs with disarming honesty and poetic insights. He has played venues of all shapes and sizes up and down the East Coast and beyond, with featured appearances at the NJ Folk Festival, Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, and Rocky Mountain Folk Festival. Herz’s music is both intimate and universal — with songs that rattle around inside your rib cage and lyrics that bounce around your head long after the show ends.
His latest EP “Fine Stories” is a five-song collection that finds beauty in life’s detours and the gems hidden in everyday setbacks. With warm acoustic textures, intimate storytelling, and soothing cello accompaniment, Mike Herz crafts vignettes that are equal parts wry, wistful, and deeply human. From mismatched socks to transatlantic heartbreak, these songs remind us that the fine print of our stories often says the most and ponders where we go from here.
