Join us for an intentional day in nature, celebrating the web of life and Día de los Muertos, a time to honor and remember the loved ones and ancestors who have passed to the other side.We gather in the open oak woodlands of Bohemia Preserve, among rolling hills, native grasses, and ancient oaks, to honor the cycles of nature and the ones who came before us. The day flows through hiking, yoga, forest bathing, altar creation, ZenThai bodywork, and music.
This is a chance to reset your nervous system.

To remember your place on the living Earth.
The Bohemia Preserve is accessed only through docents, making this a rare opportunity to explore its protected oak woodlands.
Alok has been guiding nature experiences for over 25 years and brings a depth of ecological knowledge, reverence for the land, and a gift for creating meaningful connections. Along the trail, he will weave in teachable moments about the preserve’s ecology and native plants, with gentle invitations to slow down and attune to the natural world around you.
We’ll hike to a beautiful viewpoint and open with yoga, then we’ll wander the Fen Trail for some forest bathing, and create a nature altar honoring our ancestors.
As the afternoon wanes, we’ll share heart songs and witness the sunset (weather permitting) We will make our way down the trail around 5:00p as the light fades.
Meeting & Logistics:
We'll meet at 12:30pm at the Bohemian Market in Occidental and carpool from there (the trailhead is just 5 minutes away). Please arrive early to pick up any supplies and use the bathroom before 1pm. The total hiking distance is less than 5 miles, with some hills.
What to bring:
-at least 1 liter of water
-good hiking shoes
-yoga mat
-snacks
-warm layers (coastal weather is unpredictable!)
-journal
-optional photo/memento of loved one(s)
