Embodied Water: Movement, Touch & Restorative Practice
Join us for a two-hour experiential workshop exploring Embodied Water through gentle movement, touch-based inquiry, and restorative holding.
This session invites you into a slower, more receptive state of listening—where movement arises from sensation rather than form, and where the body is met as fluid, responsive, and intelligent.
What to expect
The workshop moves between two complementary strands:
Movement practice
We begin with gentle, guided movement explorations that support ease, joint mobility, and sensory awareness, rooted in the Ilan Lev Method. Rather than working from external shapes or fixed forms, we follow internal sensation—allowing movement to organise itself organically, like water finding its path through the body.
Restorative held practice
In this part of the session, you may be invited into structured, consensual hands-on support and holding. Drawing on my training in the Ilan Lev Method alongside my Held practice, this work offers support through touch and positioning, allowing deep patterns of holding to soften and the nervous system to settle.
Participation is always guided by consent, choice, and comfort. You are welcome to rest, observe, or participate in a way that feels right for you throughout.
Theme: Embodied Water
Water is our guiding intelligence throughout the workshop—its capacity to shift, adapt, and respond without resistance.
We will explore:
- Fluid support through bones and structure
- Waves of initiation, suspension, and release
- Breath as tide and rhythmic internal motion
- The balance between containment and flow
- The body as an intelligent, sensing environment
This workshop is for you if you:
- Are curious about the body and how it moves, feels, and reorganises
- Want to explore touch, rest, and movement in a supported space
- Are a mover, dancer, therapist, bodyworker—or simply body-curious
- Are seeking a space to slow down and reconnect through sensation
No experience is necessary—just curiosity and openness.
About the practice
This workshop is informed by ongoing training and facilitation in the Ilan Lev Method and a developing Held practice. It brings together movement, touch, and deep rest as interconnected ways of listening through the body.
About the facilitator
Rosalind is a dancer, mother, and certified Ilan Lev Method practitioner with over 22 years of experience in movement, performance, and embodied inquiry. She brings a refined sensitivity to the relationship between body, touch, and connection, shaped by a long-standing engagement with somatic and performance practices.
Her work is informed by her own journey through movement and motherhood, and a deep interest in how embodied practices can support presence, regulation, and a sense of belonging.
Through her workshops, she offers spaces to slow down, move with awareness, and explore supportive, attuned touch within a grounded and respectful environment.
