About this Event
In this creative lab, we will use embodied consent techniques to deepen our ability to listen to the body. Through guided exercises, we will map the physical sensations connected to our impulses, desires and boundaries, establishing a healthy inner dialogue that supports creative flow.
From this place of listening and developing a relationship with the body and its impulses, we will move into creative writing, giving language to the body’s needs, wants and limits.
We will then shift into improvisation using Lecoq-based exercises that approach the body as a poetic vessel in search of nuance. Working with elements and colours, we will shape physicality and expand the range of the voice.
The session will culminate in a devising space where we gather the discoveries made throughout the workshop to create a short performance or further develop existing material.
Participants are welcome to bring a prop they would like to work with, either from a selection I will provide or from home. They may use the text created during the workshop or another piece of writing they wish to explore.
This will be their space to experiment with ideas, share with one another and receive supportive feedback.
