Embodied Consent: a workshop with Emily King (18+) Discover a dynamic, embodied approach to consent that empowers choice and self-expression through somatic practices and open communication.
About this Event

This workshop takes a dynamic, pleasure-focused approach to the culturally mainstream model of consent which relies solely on permission. An embodied approach to consent centralises the body, attuning to the felt sense of yes, no and maybe. Many people don’t know, or perhaps even forgotten, what their inner compass feels like. The practices explored in this workshop will support anyone who wants to create and enjoy a sexual and relational culture that moves beyond permission, prioritising negotiation and self-expression.

Embodied Consent is a space for people to challenge the default mode of enduring so they can move towards choice. Somatic movement, touch practices and prompts for open communication will be used. Everything is an invitation, this is a trauma-informed workshop that celebrates choice. Practices are fully clothed and non-sexual, but the workshop has themes of sexuality and relationships.

Note: This event is for participants aged 18 and over.
