About this Event
'Burlesque! With Shard O’Nay'
Enter Black History Month by celebrating black artistry and narrative storytelling through the medium of Burlesque!
Burlesque is a unique performance art which teases and titilates the audience with dazzlingly ostentatious costumes and a playful wink. Where life drawing relies on the artist as the silent observer, what happens when our model begins to playfully interact with us and what creativity can they tease out of us from a performance which is as much about what you don't show as what you do?
Take a step behind the velvet curtain, as you've got a front row seat to a performance like no other.
Early Masterworks welcomes anyone who wants to give life drawing a go, in a fun and relaxed environment. This session is accessible for all artistic levels.

Model:
International burlesque artist, host, life model and producer, Shard O'Nay is setting stages ablaze from Barcelona to Croatia to Liverpool to South London, leaving trails of audiences dazzled by her presence.
Passionate about championing black and global majority talent both on and off stage, she is the mastermind behind Powerhauss Cabaret Collective.
Labeled ‘one to watch,’ Shard O’Nay captures the audience with her story telling. Much like her name, she’s intoxicating—her moves will leave you utterly spellbound.
About the Guest Host:
Ethan is a Care Team Leader who likes to create in his free time. As an amateur creative he joined Early Masterworks last summer as a way of building in a regular art practice into his schedule. He appreciates the community that Early Masterworks brings which pushes him to keep trying new artistic directions.
Jasmine is an Early Masterworks veteran who enjoys creative pursuits in her downtime. She enjoys the relaxed atmosphere of the group and the shared passion for art. When she's not hosting events she is looking for the next creative activity to enjoy from lino workshops to pottery painting.
