Thank you for registering your interest in attending the Eljamel Inquiry Section 2 hearings.
We are aware from our attendee feedback questionnaire that there were some issues with using Eventbrite for booking tickets. For the December hearings, we will continue with the same format for booking tickets, however this is currently under review and we hope to make improvements as the Inquiry continues. Please note the hearing room has a limited capacity in the public gallery. If a hearing day is oversubscribed, we will check that all those who have applied still require their full allocation and make every effort to accommodate as many requests for seats as possible.
If a hearing day is still oversubscribed the Inquiry will regretfully have to turn down requests for seats. Decisions will take into account what evidence is being heard and the order in which seats were requested, however, the Inquiry will not be bound by these considerations.
Please note you do not require a ticket to watch via the live stream. This can be accessed here: The Eljamel Inquiry - YouTube. There may be occasions where proceedings are not live streamed. If this is the case there will be a notification on the website and a recording will be made available soon after.

The hearing day will usually begin at 10am and finish by 5pm. There will be breaks during the day, usually including an hour for lunch. Timings will be clarified by the Chair on the day.
The deadline for ticket requests for week 1 is 23rd November. You will recieve an email from the Inquiry team w/b 23rd November to confirm your tickets.
Please note, this process is for seats in the public gallery and is for members of the public and individual core participants. There are seperate processes for legal representatives, witnesses, the media, and corporate core participants.
Tickets are being released one week at a time. You will be able to request seats for week 2 of the hearings from Monday 16th November and for week 3 from Monday 23rd November. Eventbrite links will be published on the Inquiry website on those days.

How do I get to the venue?
By train: Waverley station is just a 5-minute walk away from Waverley Gate.
By bus: There are several bus stops on Princes Street and John Lewis both eastbound and westbound. These stops service Lothian Buses, Lothian Country Buses, East Coast Buses and the Airlink 100. For more information and for bus timetables visit: https://www.lothianbuses.com/.
By tram: The closest tram stop for Waverley Gate is St. Andrew Square. This stop is approximately five minutes’ walk from the venue.

Parking: There is no car parking available at the hearing venue. There is parking at Edinburgh Waverley Station car park located at New Street EH8 8BH which is only 10 minutes from the venue. The car park has accessible spaces available.
