Massachusetts-raised, Brooklyn-based songwriter Eliza Edens will be bringing their bold and tender brand of indie folk-rock to WCUW's FrontRoom on February 20. Their 2022 record We'll Become the Flowers was dubbed "superior singer-songwriter music" by The Nashville Scene. With their upcoming record Death Drive, Edens' expands their sound to explore grief & queerness through a kaleidoscopic lens of pop, rock, folk, and country. “The Berkshires-born artist, now based in Brooklyn by way of Colorado, is no stranger to transition, examining love, death and nature in turns… The indie-folk artist’s sophomore release finds them intensifying the questions of their debut with a sharpened, vulnerable edge.”

Opening the evening is Worcester based singer songwriter Jake McKelvie who has traveled the DIY touring circuit in the US and UK for over a decade, carving out a niche for himself as a songwriter and performer. Known for his off-kilter and whimsical "stream of self-consciousness" lyricism and charming stage demeanor, he keeps audiences engaged both as a solo performer or with his newly minted backing band, “the New Old Band". He released his latest LP "A New Kind of Hat" in 2024 and has been touring in support of that since.
