Elijah Wald traces a one-man history of early blues, from the gentle songs of Mississippi John Hurt through the exuberant ragtime of Blind Blake, the distinctive Texas sound of Blind Lemon Jefferson, and the biting slide guitar of Robert Johnson, to name a few. Elijah has been playing this music for over fifty years, toured all over the world, and published numerous books on blues and its later evolutions, from rock 'n' roll to rap. For this concert he will be joined by special guest and stellar guitarist Ernie Hawkins.
