The ancient Greeks knew this as much as the British poets of 1800s, there are many creative ways to grieve and express lament. Come learn about and practice the ancient art of creating an elegy that often begins with lament, moves to admiration, and closes with solace or consolation. Does your grief drive you to honor, elevate, and celebrate what is gone? How would it feel to dedicate a morning to formalizing your admiration of someone or something no longer in your life? Let’s find out together. Join us as we approach thanksgiving to see what sorrow and gratitude the elegiac form inspires!
Facilitated by former English teacher now death doula and grief/bereavement specialist, Jess Barewicz.
