About this Event
America has always been shaped by people who came here looking for a chance to belong, contribute, and lead. Lily Qi's story is one of them.
Qi grew up in Shanghai during the Cultural Revolution. She arrived in the United States on her own and, thirty years later, was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates. In this Talk Story conversation, we discuss her memoir Elected American: From Red China to Blue Maryland where she explores what her path says about our country: its promise, its contradictions, and its ongoing work of becoming a place where everyone belongs.
Driving in? There is ample free street parking.

What is Talk Story?
