Kalima Project return to El Swing to take us on a Journey Through Colombian Salsa. Not to be missed!
Kalima Project has been part of the Latin scene in London since 2012 with different musical ventures ranging from traditional Colombian folk to fusions of European pop and Salsa.
Their live set now takes us on a musical journey with evergreen Colombian hits that starts from the very beginning of Salsa in Colombia in 1969 with legendary artists such us Fruko y sus Tesos and Joe Arroyo; in 1978 Grupo Niche and La Misma Gente, to later on in 1984 with Guayacán Orquesta. Kalima Project will be paying their loving respects to the classic era and repertoire in Colombian music, big style.
Get ready for timeless tunes such as Los Charcos, Yamulemao, Buenaventura y Caney, Titico, Un Vestido Bonito, La Rebelion, Cali Pachanguero and Juanita Ea among many others.
El Swing – at The Portico Pleasure Palace – where the bands and DJs love to play, and the dancers love to dance.
Yamile’s Salsa Dance Class will be gracing the dancefloor from 8pm + Chocomaiz will be providing authentic Colombian flavours all night long.
Our Colombian Salsa teacher, Yamile, gets the hips moving with her all-comers Salsa Dance Class from 8, followed by the club night.
