El Monte and South El Monte Youth Community Bike Ride

Ride With Us! 🚲

ActiveSGV's Youth Community Access program invites youth from El Monte and South El Monte to join us for a free, fun community bike ride! We will ride together to a local park, enjoy lunch, and head back together.

The pace will be relaxed, and we've carefully selected our route for comfort and rider safety.

• Who: Youth ages 12–26 residing in El Monte or South El Monte (chaperones are welcome!)
• Cost: Free (lunch and sunscreen provided)
• Start & End Location: Jeff Seymour Family Center
• Bikes: Bring your own bike, or reserve a free e-bike during registration (available while supplies last)

• 8:00 AM – Check-in opens
• 8:30 AM – 8:40 AM – Mandatory safety briefing
• 8:40 AM – Roll out to the park
• Midday – Group lunch at the park (provided)
• 12:30 PM – Return to Jeff Seymour Family Center

Note: Registered riders will receive the full route and detailed timeline by email before event day.

Required:

• Refillable water bottle
• Sturdy, closed-toe shoes

Recommended:

• Comfortable clothing in light layers (easy to adjust as the day warms up)
• Sunglasses and a hat

Provided by ActiveSGV:

• Lunch
• Sunscreen
• Support transportation along the route

• Waiver Required: Every rider must submit a signed waiver before participating. You will receive a link to the digital waiver after registering.
• Riders Under 18: A parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver and remain on-site for the entire event.
• Important: Riders without a signed waiver will not be permitted to participate.

• Public Transit: The Jeff Seymour Family Center is easily accessible via Metro bus lines.
• Parking: Ample free vehicle parking is available on-site.

Your safety is our top priority:

• Hydration: Drink water before, during, and after the ride.
• Preparation: Get a good night’s rest, eat a solid breakfast, wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing, and apply sunscreen.
• Weather Policy: If the ride needs to be adjusted, postponed, or canceled due to extreme heat or poor weather, registrants will be notified at least 24 hours in advance.

If the ride reaches maximum capacity, please join the waitlist! If a spot opens up, you will have 24 hours from your Eventbrite notification email to claim your ticket before it is released to the next person.
