Ek Pehel

We are a collective of seven women artisan designers from Kutch and are graduates of Somaiya Kala Vidya, currently pursuing Business Management for Artisans (BMA).

For this first exhibition, we are bringing together a new collection of garments and textiles, where we have worked on our own ideas and designs and interpreted them through the crafts we practice, including Mashru weaving, Kutchi weaving, Suf embroidery and Rabari embroidery.

The exhibition will also bring together work from three artisan groups who have been part of Somaiya Kala Vidya’s outreach projects, Kasuti embroidery from Karnataka, Eri silk weaving from Meghalaya, and carpet weaving from Arunachal Pradesh.
