Join Our Edible Food Forest Garden class!
An edible food forest garden is a resilient, low-maintenance perennial ecosystem designed to mimic the layered structure and diverse interactions of a natural woodland.
Join Scott Dodson as he breaks down the core principles of ecological design, including:
- Understanding Tree Guilds: What they are and how to build one.
- Earthworks & Water Management: How to construct swales and berms for optimal water channeling and conservation.
- Companion Planting: Utilizing beneficial plant relationships and exploring specific species tailored for California tree guilds.
- Permaculture in Practice: Core permaculture techniques applied to tree guilds, including wood chip installation and soil health.
We will end with a tour of an established food forest garden built on a steep slope!
