About this Event
Eddie’s Front Porch was created by family members and comrades of the late Marshall “Eddie” Conway, a former Black Panther Party political prisoner, Baltimore activist and broadcaster, and now a revolutionary ancestor. Because we live in a time when owning and sharing the narratives of our ancestors is extremely important, our work is dedicated to preserving and safeguarding the legacy and work of our beloved family member and comrade, Eddie Conway. Through collective action and engagement, we ensure that Eddie Conway’s work and influence continue to inspire and empower others.
Eddie’s Front Porch is located at 1708 Gwynn’s Falls Parkway in West Baltimore, and it will serve as an archive and mini-museum with occasional art installations. The “Front Porch” represents one of Eddie’s favorite places in life, it was where he spent his “free” time–sitting and watching the neighborhood, feeding birds and squirrels, politicking with comrades, and just taking in the life of the community. We are now devoting this space to community gatherings and discussions. It is a place to come together.
